NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The Mount Holly Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing at 5:30 PM on Tuesday June 16th 2026, at the Mount Holly Town Office and via Zoom to consider an Application, PC-2026-01, under Mount Holly Subdivision Regulations for two lot mergers and a Boundary Line Adjustment.
Property Owners: Stephen McDonald, Nancy McDonald, Gerald Carney, Marina Huyler.
Property Location: Parcel 03G8036.00, 99 Loop Road, Mount Holly, Vermont, and adjoining parcels.
Application for: Approval under the Mount Holly Subdivision Regulations of two Lot Mergers and a Boundary Line Adjustment involving Parcel 03G8036.00 and adjoining parcels on Loop Road. The proposal would merge Parcel 5A-2, approximately 0.63 acres, with the Gerald Carney parcel; merge Parcel 6A-2, approximately 0.41 acres, with the Marina Huyler parcel across Loop Road; and add Parcel 6A-1, approximately 0.52 acres, to the McDonald Family Trust parcel by boundary line adjustment. Parcel 03G8036.00 would be eliminated as a separate parcel, and no new building lot is proposed.
Participation in this hearing is a pre-requisite to the right to take any subsequent appeal.

CAVENDISH VILLAGE GHOST WALK No Mr. Higgernell isn't buried in the basement, but what's up with all the strange things that happen at this sneaker ashlar house on Main St? And is the old Duttonsville School really haunted? According to those who live there it is and includes a former student that likes to visit. Strange and haunted stories abound in Cavendish Village.
On June 20 Saturday), the Cavendish Historical Society will once again lead a ghost walk in Cavendish Village. Meet at the Museum (1958 Main St.) at 8 pm wearing comfortable walking shoes and bring a flashlight. The tour includes many stops including the Stone Church and the Cavendish Village Cemetery.

FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY PHOTO CALENDAR CONTEST INFORMATION The Photo Calendar contest is a new event sponsored by the Friends of the Fletcher Memorial Library. The Friends are developing a 2027 Calendar which will feature photos of Ludlow and be sold in the Fall of 2026. All proceeds will be used to support the library. We are looking for photos that showcase some aspects of Ludlow: our beautiful mountains, lakes, flowers, wildlife, and quaint village are all ideas that come to mind. An independent panel of judges will pre-screen all submitted photos to narrow them down to 24 semi-finalist photos. The 24 semi-finalist photos will be voted on by the public during the week of August 10-15. Photos will be displayed in Fletcher Memorial Library, and ballots can be obtained from the front desk. Photos must be submitted no later than July 13, 2026. Stop by the library for the rules and the application form. |
