CAVENDISH VILLAGE GHOST WALK No Mr. Higgernell isn't buried in the basement, but what's up with all the strange things that happen at this sneaker ashlar house on Main St? And is the old Duttonsville School really haunted? According to those who live there it is and includes a former student that likes to visit. Strange and haunted stories abound in Cavendish Village.
On June 20 Saturday), the Cavendish Historical Society will once again lead a ghost walk in Cavendish Village. Meet at the Museum (1958 Main St.) at 8 pm wearing comfortable walking shoes and bring a flashlight. The tour includes many stops including the Stone Church and the Cavendish Village Cemetery.

FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY PHOTO CALENDAR CONTEST INFORMATION The Photo Calendar contest is a new event sponsored by the Friends of the Fletcher Memorial Library. The Friends are developing a 2027 Calendar which will feature photos of Ludlow and be sold in the Fall of 2026. All proceeds will be used to support the library. We are looking for photos that showcase some aspects of Ludlow: our beautiful mountains, lakes, flowers, wildlife, and quaint village are all ideas that come to mind. An independent panel of judges will pre-screen all submitted photos to narrow them down to 24 semi-finalist photos. The 24 semi-finalist photos will be voted on by the public during the week of August 10-15. Photos will be displayed in Fletcher Memorial Library, and ballots can be obtained from the front desk. Photos must be submitted no later than July 13, 2026. Stop by the library for the rules and the application form. |

The procession will begin at the Town Office parking lot and travel through Belmont, down Maple Hill, right onto 155, right onto Tarbellville, and end in Belmont Square. We invite the community to line the streets safely, cheer loudly, and honk to celebrate our grads as they pass by—help us give them a memorable sendoff! 🚗🎉

Hello, Friday — and welcome to the best part of the week. It's been a scorcher out here, and today's flirting with 90°. Stay cool, drink water, repeat. The cattle have earned themselves a primo setup — lush pasture, deep shade, and all the grass they can handle. Our laying hens? Living their best lives, dusting in the dirt and hunting bugs in the cool grass. And we've got two batches of meat birds out on pasture soaking up the summer, with two more batches snug under the brooder. Hot weekend ahead? Come inside. The farm stand is air-conditioned and stocked, and we'd love to see you. Skip the hot kitchen — fire up the grill instead. Our ground beef makes the best burgers you'll put on a bun this summer, and we've got steaks worth the heat. Low and slow crowd? Throw some ribs or brisket on the smoker and let time do the work. And if you want dinner done in under 12 minutes flat, Goodman's take-and-bake frozen pizzas have entered the chat. Don't sleep on breakfast, either. Stack one of Millicent's sourdough English muffins with Ploughgate cultured butter and a swipe of our maple cream — we dare you to improve on that. Or grab a jar of Sidehill Farm jam and call it perfect. Bacon, farm-fresh eggs, and whole bean coffee round out the morning spread. We'll be here Wednesday through Sunday, 12–5. Star Lake Saturday, June 13 This is a final reminder of our “Spring Cleaning” event to be held from 10 am to noon on this coming Saturday, June 13 (note the date correction). We will gather by Odd Fellows Hall near Star Lake and begin preparing the way for bottom barriers to be installed in early July. Many Mount Holly folks have taken part in cleanup activities previous years. We look forward to welcoming veteran, and first-time, helpers for this kickoff event.
