Stop on by !

We are gearing up for a busy few days here at the farm, as turkey processing season is here!

We'll have our farm stand open this weekend (12:00-5:00), and are stocked with everything you'll need for your holiday gathering.

Produce on hand ...  lettuce, spinach, kale, chard, bok choy, carrots, garlic, onions, butternut squash, potatoes, beets and apples.

Our selection of cheese is just what your charcuterie board is looking for!  Don't forget to grab some maple almonds to round out your selection.

Ground pork and sausage are waiting for all of your stuffing recipes.  Our maple breakfast sausage adds an amazing flavor!

Who else likes to cook once and eat all week?!  We roasted a chicken earlier in the week.  Leftovers a couple nights later made their way onto a pizza.  Lunch today was chicken salad sandwiches, and the carcass will be used later on for stock!

Croissants and pastries are back this weekend!  Did I just hear you say yippee?!  Stop by on Saturday and grab some.  We've waited long enough, right?!

Please note, we will be closing next Wednesday at 4:00 so Gramma can get a jump on Thanksgiving meal prep, as well as closing all day on Thursday.  Wishing you and your families a very Happy Thanksgiving!

We thank you all for shopping locally and we look forward to seeing you this weekend!

Please be cautious and drive accordingly when driving in and out of our driveway.  Be on the lookout for farm equipment, dogs, other customers, and  grandchildren!

Farm Kids

The grandkids have been working on personalizing the pie boxes for those of you who have ordered a homemade pie for Thanksgiving.

I just love how serious they are with their projects .. barn chores, farm stand, or on the dining room table.

Thank you all for ordering a pie or two, and please know that your pie boxes were made with a whole lot of love!

Community Health Mettowee Celebrates 25 Years

Primary Care Nearby at Community Health Mettowee

West Pawlet - "Community Health Mettowee is a great place to work. We are like a little family here," said Debbie Buxton, LPN, one of the original Mettowee nurses who is celebrating Community Health Mettowee's 25 years as a family practice in the beautiful rolling hills of Mettowee Valley. She joined Community Health when local providers came together to form what today is the Community Health Mettowee practice.

The land that Community Health Mettowee sits on at 278 VT Route 149 in West Pawlet, Vermont, was purchased from local farmers Hazel and James Covino. A photograph of the Covinos by photographer Neil Rappaport is displayed in the Community Health Mettowee waiting room.

"We are in the middle here in Pawelt, between Rutland and Glens Falls, and we are the first place people think of," said Buxton. For 25 years, it's been neighbors helping neighbors at Community Health Mettowee.

Debbie Buxton, LPN, and Dr. Carl Beckler have been part of the Mettowee family for 25 years.
Many of the staff are neighbors, living in Pawlet, Wells, Granville, New York and other nearby towns. In addition to primary care, Community Health Mettowee provides area residents with diabetes education, behavioral health, blood drives, flu shot clinics, medical assistance to local school districts, community food bank drives, fundraisers for local nonprofits and holiday giving events.
Community Health Mettowee is all about community, family and wellness. Mettowee is a Farmacy distribution site, a program supported by Community Health and coordinated by the Vermont Farmer's Food Center, supplying individuals and families with locally grown produce. A bountiful and beautiful garden is planted by the Mettowee staff each year, producing a harvest they also share (you might see them having lunch outside in the warm weather). And years ago, a dachshund named Pumpkin was the office mascot who joyfully greeted visitors and employees.

Lots of great memories have been made over the past 25 years at Mettowee, where health, wellness and community are priorities for the health care professionals, patients, neighbors and families who are all part of our history and our future. We are accepting new patients and continue to grow and expand programs and services to keep health care accessible and affordable.
