| Hello Supporters of Live Music! Our summer concert series may be in the rear view mirror, but we have more in store right here in Shrewsbury. Please mark your calendar for Sunday, Oct 27 at 4 pm, inside at the Shrewsbury Meeting House and come out and support those who need it. Our dear friend and fellow musician, Silas Hamilton, (who has graced our Shrewsbury stage many times) had a week's worth of gigs in N.C. cancelled due to Hurricane Helene's effect on the Asheville, NC area. So what does a musician do when their livelihood is interrupted? They think of others. Silas remembered that our dear friend Tom Mitchell, former Shrewsbury resident and fellow Serenaders bandmate, would ALWAYS prompt the rest of us to perform for a fundraiser concert for those who are going through major life interruptions and devastation of homeland. Whether it was in Haiti, or El Salvador or in the U.S., Tom would rally the musical troops and we'd do a concert. Now is no different. So, in the spirit of Tom Mitchell, here we go! And we do hope you'll support the effort with your positive presence, your dollars, and your own spirit of taking care of those who have less than you. Please join us. Free will donation. All monies go to support theleaf.org and bounty and soul.org, organizations at work to provide relief in the western North Carolina region. |
