Important Announcement On Saturday, August 15 2006, the Museum will be open as usual from 2 to 4 pm. At 2:15 there will be a viewing of two videos about metal detection in Mount Holly. These will be presented by Mount Holly resident René Bugnon. René will share the results of recent metal detection adventures undertaken with Brad Martin (Green Mountain Metal Detecting) near René’s Mount Holly home. Come and see what mysteries have been unveiled in our little town! While you’re at it, visit the Museum’s collection of Mount Holly memorabilia. |

Silent Movie Festival Returns to Ludlow Aug. 22 Featuring a Harold Lloyd comedy "Safety Last" FOLA (Friends of Ludlow Auditorium) will celebrate the return of its annual Classic Silent Festival on Saturday, August 22 at 7 PM in the Heald Auditorium at Ludlow Town Hall. To make this a very special event, the main feature will be the classic comedy, "Safety Last", starring the great comedian, Harold Lloyd. Jeff Rapsis will return to provide his original musical background to this great silent film. The program will begin with a short Buster Keaton comedy. Glenn Brown will be featured at the auditorium's classic piano for this sketch. Harold Lloyd is famous for the comedic physical scenes he would create doing all his own acting in death-defining stunts that, while very comedic, were also very dangerous. His comedy film, "Safety Last" is renown for the scene where he hangs onto the minute hand of a building's clock. The clock was over 200 feet above the street. He was actually hanging with no safety net below him. He was often compared to Chaplin as thy both produced great comedies in a style that was unique to them. He performed in hundreds of silent comedies. The Silent Movie Festival is open to everyone and is free; donations are appreciated to cover the many expenses of producing this event.
