Quick Notes from the Mount Holly Conservation Commission Spring has FINALLY sprung here in Mount Holly. And many a local or migrating critter is making itself known. Turkeys are on the march; either in flocks or lone males on the prowl. Like the old chicken joke, often they seem to be perpetually determined to get from whatever side of the road they are on to the other side, so heads up while driving. Bears are making appearances as well. These true omnivores can be seen rooting out grubs or even just grazing among the daffodils on the new spring grass. (Make sure those bird feeders are tucked away and food waste securely stored, because bears are extra hungry this time of year!)
