Mount Holly Snow Flyers

We've finally had our first frost here in the Mount Holly area and it has continued for several days now!

We have held several club workday events clearing our trail system and debrushing lots of area. We wish to thank everyone who has helped on these weekends. A special thank you to Mike Garrity for his time and equipment in fixing trails around the 155 area. A special thank you to Bob Beardmore for also donating his time and equipment to trail work.

Our club was recently awarded a grant from Ski-Doo Snow Pass (@SkiDoo #SkiDooPASS) that will help repair the expensive trail flood damage we experienced in July of 2023. We are appreciative of this grant.

The annual Cider Days event was a great success. The downpours on Saturday were not welcoming but overall, we had a great turnout and our basket raffle was as popular as ever! Proceeds from Cider Days will benefit the New Year's Eve firework hosted by the Mount Holly Fire Department. We are fortunate to sponsor the firework display at Star Lake the area and sure hope you can join us for this event!

Our big cash raffle "Save our Groomer '24" winners were drawn at Cider Days. 1st place went to Stacey Larrabee for $2000; 2nd prize went to Andrew Leever for $750 and 3rd prize went to Apache for $250. We appreciate everyone who purchased a ticket for the club groomer. Repair expenses alone are costly as well as the ever-rising cost of fuel for the groomer.

TMA's are now on sale until December 15, 2023. Please choose the Mount Holly Snow Flyers as your club. By supporting our club, we can have such events like ride-in BBQ's, scholarship program, community civic donations and other local project support. TMA rates will increase after December 15, 2023. All TMA's are purchased online through www.vtvast.org. If you need any assistance with this, you can reach out to Kim at 802-779-7194 and she will assist you. As a reminder, you will need your VT snowmobile registration prior to purchasing your TMA. Also remember, you will not be receiving a dated sticker from VT DMV for snowmobiles effective this season. You will only receive a renewal registration – no stickers.

We sincerely appreciate all of our landowners and your willingness to work with our club and know that it is a privilege to ride on your land; not a given right. Some landowners may see us out and about checking and clearing trails from now until it snows. Trails will open December 15, 2023; pending snow! We are all hoping this winter is better to all of the winter enthusiasts compared to last winter.

As always, our clothing apparel is always available online. You can view the merchandise online and purchase also directly online as well. Do not forget to get your Snow Flyer snow stake! We have custom snowmobile rider stakes and a Mount Holly generic one for those who may not be a rider. We will make a pick-up arrangement for your snow stake from a club member in the Mt. Holly area; we unfortunately are unable to mail these items due to the size of the stake. Get your snow stake before they are all gone!

Our club signboard will be on display once again this year featuring many local businesses within the surrounding area. The signboard can be found at RD 76. It's a good place to stop for a rest and check out the sponsors who help support our club. We welcome new sponsors at any time. If interested, you can email us at mounthollysnowflyers@gmail.com.

Follow us on Facebook. Our website is: www.mounthollysnowflyers.org.

Our club meets on the first Tuesday of the month. Zoom options are available. Please consider joining in on one of our meetings to see what is going on! It takes many volunteers to be successful and we are fortunate to have many helpers in our club.

Thank You again to our landowners and sign board sponsors who help support our club. Put on your snow dancing shoes and let it snow!
