Vermont Home Gardener:  Cold Protection!

Vermont spring can be a challenge but there are a couple easy ways to prevent early plant damage on cold nights.  Sunny warm days tend to be followed by clear, still, cold nights when frost damage occurs.  Cloudy, windy nights bring chance of freezing. Either way we need to protect our early plantings and strawberries.  Get some new ideas and cold frames plans on  Vermont Home Gardener

Our diversified farm is located in Mount Holly and we are dedicated to providing a local alternative to commercially produced factory food.

THE MARKET

After much discussion, we have decided that Plew Farm will not be vending at the Rutland Farmers market this summer season. This was not an easy decision, but it was the right decision for us.

THANK YOU

We began our curbside service at the farm stand over 6 weeks ago and we are continually amazed at the support and dedication you have shown. As we maneuver through the ins and outs of each day, we thank you for being there.
We are hopeful that in the near future, we will be able to open up our farm stand for you to come inside and shop! Of course, I'll have to get busy and sweep the floor and pick up first, but we are anxious to have you all browse our selections.
Please bear in mind, we are working hard with our partner farms to keep the offerings available. And thank you for being patient as each and every one of the farmers get their crop selections caught up and stocked!
Do let us know if there is something you'd like to see offered at our farm stand. We'd be happy to try to make it possible!
We had the our busiest day EVER last Saturday and for that we thank YOU! Over 80 customers came and went during the afternoon. We ended the day with a smile and a full heart.
WHAT'S FOR DINNER
Sausage, peppers and onions on a toasted bun, topped with melted cheese. We use our hot italian sausage for this meal, but if you're not a fan of spice, our sweet italian sausage will work just fine.
Fry up the sausage, onions, and peppers together in a skillet and place a toasted bun. Top with cheese of your choice, and place under the broiler for just a minute to melt the cheese.
We've got the sausage on our product list. Let us know what you'd like!

Our farm stand is open 7 days a week, 12-5 for curbside service. Please keep in mind that we update our product list daily. It's always a good idea to check back often to see what is currently available.
