MOUNT HOLLY VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPT. ROAST BEEF SUPPER

The Mount Holly Volunteer Fire Dept. is holding their Roast Beef Supper on Saturday, June 15th at the Odd Fellows Hall in Belmont. The meal starts at 5 p.m. with take-outs available. The cost is $15., $8. for those under 12, and free for children under 5 years old. Call 802-259-2460.

New State Law: Firearms Not Allowed at Polling Places

We are looking forward to a strong turnout for our school vote. We also want to make sure voters know about a new state law. 13 V.S.A. § 4027 states "A person shall not knowingly possess a firearm at a polling place or on the walks leading to a building in which a polling place is located on an election day."

This law applies everywhere in Vermont. It requires signs to be posted at the entrances to polling places, so you will see signs here when you come to vote. The law also addresses specific exceptions, including for law enforcement, and states that people may keep firearms in their vehicles when they park at polling places.
