The newly formed partnership between Castleton University and Chamber & Economic Development of the Rutland Region (CEDRR) is working to develop new internship opportunities for students and employers throughout Rutland County. Working closely with employers, Chamber & Economic Development of the Rutland Region recognizes the value of internships to help local businesses with employee recruitment, allow for new perspectives and ideas, close the skills gap, and for overall community engagement. We emphasize the importance for students to become invested in our local community now, with the hope that they will remain residents post-graduation and become leaders in our community. As students begin registering for their spring courses in the next few weeks, CEDRR and Castleton University are reaching out to local employers who may be interested in hosting a student intern for the Spring 2021 semester. Internships are becoming increasingly more valuable because of COVID-19 as students bring in fresh ideas and new talent to assist businesses in adapting to their current needs. If your business is looking for more information on internships, resources on developing a successful internship program, and are interested in hosting an intern from Castleton University please contact Kim Rupe.
