Okemo Valley Flood Recovery Forum: Now that the initial burst of flood recovery is behind us, we're into a more challenging stage-the rebuilding. For those who have been most effected, there are constant challenges, questions, and an overwhelming sense of, "how am I going to get this done?" To help with this current phase, various community groups, including Black River Action Team, Black River Good Neighbor, Cavendish Connects and the Fletcher Memorial Library, are organizing an Okemo Valley Flood Recovery Forum. Designed for those impacted in Cavendish, Ludlow, Mt. Holly and Ludlow, the Forum will be held on Saturday, September 30 from 9-11 at the Ludlow Community Center. This is a free event open to the public. There will be a brief overview by presenters addressing such issues as funding; where to get assistance beyond FEMA; temporary housing; water; energy efficiency in new mechanicals and appliances; hazardous mitigation, loans etc. As there will be a number of groups present, participants will have ample time to discuss the unique challenges they are facing with those that may be able to help them. As many of those most impacted have little time to be on line or read newspapers, please share this information with neighbors and friends. If you have specific concerns and questions you'd like to see addressed at the Forum, please e-mail them to cavendishconnects@gmail.com Jill
