Happy Friday !

Wow ..  woke up to 39 degrees here at the farm this morning!  A bit of chill in the air to say the least!  I'll be getting the roasting and crock pot recipes out for the weekend!

We had our 3,000th farm stand customer for this year stop by!!  We are so grateful for all of you and reaching these little milestones makes us feel loved!

We closed our farm stand yesterday for the afternoon for our annual trip to the Tunbridge Fair!  It's always a good time.  This is the fair that the grandkids have been saving their summer earnings for, and they had a blast!

We've added a new product to our farm stand offerings.  Local photographer Tom Johnson's notecards!  Now when you're out buying gifts, we've got some beautiful cards to add to them.

The bakers from 3 Bears Bakery will be taking a break from baking this week, so there will be no fresh bread.  We do have some frozen bread available, phew!  And we are fully stocked with Mount Dairy-Aire Farm's sourdough english muffins.  These go quickly, so get 'em while we got 'em!

We offered our beef shanks on sale a week ago, and many of you took advantage of that sale.  We've extended it into this weekend as well.  These shanks are perfect for the slow cooker and make the most delicious soups or stews.

Not able to get to the farm stand?!  Luckily you can shop our website 24/7 for all your maple needs!

With the exception of service dogs, no dogs allowed at the farm.  Please be mindful of hay equipment, grandkids, vehicles and customers when driving in and out of our driveway.  Our farm stand is located at 1966 Healdville Road in Mount Holly.  Open Tuesdays through Sundays from 12:00pm-5:00pm.  Closed on Mondays!

Rotary Races Ducks to Aid Equine Therapy Group
By Glenn Heitsmith

LUDLOW – The Rotary Club floated hundreds of rubber ducks down the Black River last month raising nearly $2,000 for Reinbow Riding Center, the Belmont-based equestrian non-profit that employs the power of horses to make people feel good.

In accepting Rotary's donation, RRC Executive Director Liz Karle noted that a therapeutic equine experience – not unlike hugging your dog -- makes you feel good, and also benefits people with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), autism, those suffering from domestic violence and a host of other special needs.

The calming warmth experienced in the presence of horses and ponies often opens the door to beneficial communication between students and their equine partners and in turn instructors and volunteers. "We're not teaching dressage," which involves training horses to execute complex movements, Karle says, adding, "It could be as simple as just brushing the animal."

RRC, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, was this year's Duck Race beneficiary. The 2022 race cash winners were: Kathy Burns (First Place), Patty Rumrill (2nd place), Megan Foley (3rd place), Madison Huntley (last little ducky) and Green Mountain Fireplace Specialties (Corporate winner). Most cash winners donated their proceeds back to RRC or to the Rotary Club.

The Rotary Club serves the communities of Cavendish, Ludlow, Mount Holly and Plymouth and meets for lunch weekly on Tuesdays at an area restaurant.

Reinbow Riding Center Executive Director Liz Karle, center, accepts 2022 Duck Race proceeds from Rotary Club President Jim Rumrill and Sharon Bixby, race chairperson and head duck.
