FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FMI: Maria French/Jane Duda, WallingfordDay@gmail.com 2023 Wallingford Day Celebration is Saturday, July 15 Wallingford Day, the town's annual community celebration, is shaping up to be a day chock-full of family-friendly events. Starting with a morning of town-wide yard sales and the final hours of the town newsletter's silent auction fundraiser, and culminating in a fireworks display at sundown, the day promises something for just about everyone. The main events center on the village and nearby recreation field, with activities up, down, and around Main Street. The morning and afternoon see an electric vehicle exhibit in the Baasch Dental parking lot, village-wide scavenger hunt launching from just south of the light, events at the library, and free hotdogs and ice cream at the Wallingford Rotary. Sustainable Eats and Hot Toddy's food trucks will be serving up their specialties beginning at 10 am in the heart of the village, then moving to the rec field for the mid-afternoon and evening. Local businesses will feature their wares, food and drink, and perhaps a special or two. The Wallingford Rescue is hosting an open house and the Wallingford Block will have a BYOB block party in the afternoon and evening. Other featured events include a kid-centric bike decorating session and parade (BYO bike or trike, decorations will be provided), culminating in games and activities at the rec field. Music will be a big part of the day's festivities, with live music by the Plumb Bobs, a contra dance, and DJ Brett Myhre, to name a few, beginning in the later afternoon right up until the final event of the day, the Laurence Kaminsky Fireworks, provided by the fabulous folks at C&C Fireworks. All are invited to come and take part in the day's festivities. For more information, follow @WallingfordDay on Facebook and Instagram. # # #
