| Hi all, I'm writing because all but Betsy ski the trails, & Betsy, in case you hear about a lost dog. Stephen was skiing w the dogs tonight (I wasn't home from work yet). He called me abt 5-5:30 saying a black dog abt our dogs height though thinner and short haired w maybe some white on chest & long tail w a white tip wearing a somewhat tattered red coat approached him & the dogs. He managed to get Lucy on leash but couldn't get close enough to read the dog tag. Stephen kept calling for an owner & there was no answer, nor could he see a headlamp. The dog finally went up the trail (see below for where they met) & Stephen skied back to the car. Weird is that there wasn't another car in the parking lot, or tracks from one, nor on CCC when he checked up there. He also saw no fresh ski tracks - it was snowing at the time. We're not sure if maybe someone from the Rte 100 side of Plymouth Rd was out. I met him back on Plymouth to take Lucy & he went up the road calling the dog til Andy's Alley. We left abt 7p. Of course, the mind comes up w all sorts of scenarios, tho' just hoping the dog & its owner are home safely now. Anyway, if you're out skiing tomorrow or hear about a missing dog, feel free to reach out. Skiers, Stephen took a L off Chimney trail onto LaDIDa. The dog was on LaDiDa in between the section where the little up & over leaves the trail & comes back to LaDiDa. Stephen was at the top of the up & over & skied thru the woods down to LaDiDa to grab the dogs. The dog headed onto the up & over. I did stop at the town hall since there was a meeting going on & told Rebecca. It's getting cold out. Maybe one of u could ski there tomorrow if u have time? Sorry for the ramble but I wanted people to have as many details as possible in case the dog (& maybe owner) is lost. Thx, Lana |
