Ludlow Rotary Collecting Eclipse

Glasses for S.American Children

The Ludlow Rotary Club (LRC) has announced that it will be collecting the special glasses used to observe the recent solar eclipse.

According to Kim Lampert, LRC Treasurer, these glasses will provide children in South America and elsewhere as a valuable tool for students, and people in general, to use during the October 2024 annular eclipse which will occur in Latin America.

The glasses may be dropped off at three convenient locations in Ludlow which will include:

· Benson's Chevrolet, Inc. 25 Pond St

· M&T Bank 213 Main St and

· Fletcher Memorial Library 88 Main Street

People unable to drop them off at these locations may also use the LRC's Penny Sale on Saturday, April 27 at the Ludlow Gymnasium starting at 6 PM.

Members of the LRC will collect glasses through April 30. For additional information, contact Kim at 802-228-4000.

The Shrewsbury Library is collecting your used and extra eclipse glasses for recycling!
There is a drop off box in the front hall of the library.
They will be sent to Astronomers Without Borders, an organization that
inspects them and sends them on for use in other countries.

Also, a reminder that there is a large supply of free COVID tests
available at the library. They're in a basket on the table. Please help
yourself!
