We have made significant progress removing most of the phragmite weed growth on the embankment next to the boat launch at Star Lake.

The next phase requires planting native plants to out compete the phragmite weeds.

So, I am asking our many gardeners for any native plants that can now be divided.

You can drop off tagged native plants at the Conservation commission table, set up on Cider days, October 7-8.

Additional information on our ongoing Star Lake mitigation projects will also be a available.

Here is a short native plant list:

Aquiligea/columbine
Amsonia/bluestar
Aster
Coreopsis/tickseed
Elderberries
Forget me not
Red/yellow twig dogwoods
Chelone glabra/turtlehead
Willows

Eupatorium/joe-pye weed, boneset
Helianthus/sunflower
