A Great Scavenger Hunt for All Ages!
Something for everyone to notice and explore! The Shrewsbury Conservation Commission invites you to join us this Saturday June 14 at the end of Coldham Road at Jockey Hill Farm.
Come ready open your eyes and ears to explore the natural world around us. This exploration is on dirt road or mowed fields. Fun for the whole family, and younguns' and oldsters too. Many trails to hike afterwards are available with maps to guide you. Bring bug repellent, water, wear hiking shoes, and take along a smartphone and binoculars if you have them. You'll be sure to notice things that you didn't even know about before and get a fresh appreciation of our natural world. Rain (unless torrential) or shine. Questions?

We've got some incredible bands with tunes that are so fun and
danceable, and songwriters putting their own unique spin on timely
events and shared experiences. There's a lot of talent out there and

First Up.....FRIDAY, JUNE 13 AT 6 PMTHE STOCKWELL BROTHERS Bruce, Barry, Alan, and Kelly Stockwell's music spans traditional and progressive styles, but their trademark acoustic sound features new singer/songwriter material recast with banjo, alternative rhythms, and three-part harmonies. Featuring 2005 Merlefest bluegrass banjo contest winner Bruce Stockwell, The Stockwell Brothers have performed alongside artists from Bill Monroe, Doc Watson and Earl Scruggs to Mary-Chapin Carpenter, Jonathan Edwards and Asleep At The Wheel, recorded with Mike Auldridge and Phil Rosenthal of the bluegrass supergroup The Seldom Scene, and toured throughout the United States and in Canada and Europe.

In keeping with its long-standing tradition, the Ludlow Rotary Club announced the winners of its 2023 scholarships, totaling $9,000. Mary Crowley, scholarship committee chairperson, indicated that the Ludlow Rotary's scholarship program has offered over $284,000 to graduating seniors from the club's area of service which includes Ludlow, Plymouth, Mt Holly, and Cavendish.
Recipients of the scholarships in 2023 are:
1. Daniel Kessman Scholarship $2.000 to Chloe Ayer, Ludlow resident, attended Green Mountain High School
2. Robert Kirkbride Scholarship $2,000 to Mia Valerie, Ludlow, attended Green Mountain High School
3. Ralph Hogancamp Technical Scholarship $2,000 to Jaçk Hinkley , Cavendish, attended Green Mountain High School
4. Traditional Scholarship $1,000 to Dominic Valente, Ludlow Resident, attended Mt Saint Joseph Academy in Rutland
5. Traditional Scholarship $1,000 to Liam O'Brien, Cavendish, attended Green Mountain High School
6. Traditional Scholarship $1,000 to Olivia Rebetz, Ludlow, attended Bellows Falls Union High School.
Funding for the scholarship program is derived primarily from proceeds of the Ludlow Rotary Club's annual Penny Sale in the Spring. | | |
