HIKE INTO THE YALE FOREST
Hikes will be offered over the next two weeks into the Yale Forest. Mount Holly is home to 462 acres that are owned by Yale University for their Forestry Program. The property was given to Yale by the family of Joseph Bowen who was a graduate. He died when shot down over France in 1918 during World War 1.
The hikes are moderate walks along an early road that provide some history of the area and a visit to the site of a plaque that was placed in memory of the young pilot who did not come home. Hikes are finalized a day or two ahead when the weather forecast is known. Please call 802-259-2460 and leave a message if interested.
