Killington Resort Awards Grant to Mount Holly Conservation Organization
The Mount Holly Conservation Trust (MHCT) is pleased to announce that it is the recipient of a $3,000 grant from Killington Resort's "Upward & Outward" Sustainability & Community Giving initiative. The grant recognizes MHCT's work preserving habitat critical to local flora and fauna, preserving the scenic beauty of our countryside, and
creating and expanding opportunities for outdoor recreation, all of which make Vermont such a great place to live and visit.

MHCT's President, Brigid Sullivan, said "We are truly grateful to Killington for its generous grant, and especially for the recognition that it represents. Gifts like this are essential for us to continue our work and, as an all-volunteer non-profit organization, every dollar is used solely for that purpose." Additional information about MHCT and its

Killington's donation to MHCT is the sum of the registration fees that contestants paid to participate in Killington's Superstar Showdown event in May, plus a matching contribution from Killington itself. The event is a contest to log the most vertical feet skied (or snowboarded) in a single day on the resort's black diamond Superstar trail.

Well hello there, Friday! Let's get this weekend started, shall we?!

Farm life is buzzing right along — twelve young pigs joined us earlier this week (yes, they are as cute as you'd imagine), turkeys arrive in about a month, and our young laying hens are almost ready to punch the clock! Those pullets should start laying within the next couple of weeks, which means more eggs headed your way soon.

In the farm stand this weekend:

A quick note — our sweet treats bakers are taking a well-earned break this weekend, so there won't be any baked treats from them. But don't worry, we've got you covered! Fresh bread from our friends at 3 Bears Bakery will be on hand, and Millicent stopped by with her delicious sourdough English muffins. All is well in bread land.

Fresh chicken — only 3 weeks left of fresh, never frozen chicken! Grab one for Sunday dinner before this window closes.

Ground beef & ground sausage — your meal-prep MVPs. Burgers, meatballs, stuffed peppers, pasta night... whatever you're making, we've got what you need.

Mulch hay — the grandkids have had a wild summer, but they took a break to hand-pack bags of mulch hay for all your small garden spots. Grab a bag (or two)!

CORN arrives Saturday! Get here early — it sells out every single weekend, no exceptions.

BELMONT VILLAGE TOUR

The Mount Holly Community Historical Museum is offering a walking tour of Belmont Village at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 22^nd. Meet at the Perkins House Museum on the Village Green for a tour that will last a little more than an hour. Learn about the families and the history of the houses. In case of rain, a tour of the museum’s collection will be offered. Call 802-259-2460.

16^th Annual Blue Flames Concert and Community Picnic on the Weston Green

On Saturday August 22nd from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, everyone is invited to come to Weston's town Green for our 16^h Annual Blue Flames Steel Band Concert! Rain date: Sunday August 23rd

Come listen to a free concert by the enchanting Blue Flames Steel Band who for the 16^6h year are donating their talent and time to a festive community celebration.

Bring a Picnic family and friends!

Come to honor the nine pioneer women who 140 years ago turned a smelly frog pond and muddy swamp into what is now called the most beautiful Town Green in Vermont.

Most of All, come for the fun of celebration and sharing spirit of community. The "Ladies of the Green" in the spirit of their ancestors, welcome all to join in the fun with and especially thank the Blue Flames for their participation, amazing good will and support!
