Vermont Home Gardener New Year Garden Resolutions It is not too late to make your New Years Garden Resolutions! You should make your own resolutions and here are some of mine as suggestions. - Get serious about better composting. Make full use of kitchen, garden, and yard wastes to improve my soil stop using chemical fertilizers.
- Start with good quality seeds. Cheap seeds can mean low germination and poor plant vigor.
- Buy plants from local nurseries for better varieties and to support our local economy. Big box sellers bring undesirable varieties and greenhouse pests and diseases from big commercial greenhouses.
- Grow what you can and buy the rest locally, avoid unhealthy factory food.
