Today's Forecast: Rain. Cloudy. High near 54, with temperatures falling to around 44 in the afternoon. South wind 7 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 44 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Wind Advisory issued December 18 at 3:53AM EST until December 18 at 4:00PM EST by NWS Burlington VT

* WHAT...Southeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph

expected.

* WHERE...Rutland, Eastern Addison, Eastern Chittenden, and

Eastern Franklin counties in Vermont.

* WHEN...Now until 4 PM EST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects.

Tree limbs could be blown down and isolated power outages may

result.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strongest southeast winds are expected to

slide northward between 6 AM and 11 AM. Locally stronger winds

are possible in the immediate western slopes of the Greens.

Instructions

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high

profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.

possible.

* WHERE...Rutland, Eastern Addison, Eastern Chittenden, and
Eastern Franklin counties in Vermont.

* WHEN...From late Sunday night through Monday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds could blow down trees and power
lines. Scattered power outages are possible. Travel could be
difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strongest winds are expected to occur
between 3 AM and noon on Monday, especially along the western
slopes of the Greens.

location prior to the onset of winds.

Flood Watch issued December 18 at 3:59AM EST until December 19 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Burlington VT

* WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues to be

possible.

* WHERE...Portions of northern New York and all of central and

northern Vermont including the Northeast Kingdom.

* WHEN...Through Tuesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,

creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

- Widespread rainfall amounts of 1.5 to 2.5 inches with locally

higher amounts on eastern upslope locations along the Green

and Adirondack Mountains is expected. In addition,

significant snowmelt is expected Monday given near record

temperatures and strong winds. The combination of rainfall

and snow melt is expected to bring area rivers into minor to

moderate flood stage.
