Rutland – Planning ahead isn't always possible, so the Rutland Community Collaborative (RCC) has gathered a panel of experts who will discuss what Advance Directives are. They will also answer questions from families and patients who have not written out the type of medical treatment they would want should they become unable to communicate them to their provider.

The RCC is sponsoring a free webinar on Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 5-6:30pm. Register at https://bit.ly/Advance21 and receive a link to this important community information event which will be moderated by Rich Hildebrant, MD, Chief Medical Information Officer at Rutland Regional Medical Center (RRMC) and Andrea Wicher, Director of Population Health at Community Health.

The panel of experts who will discuss Advance Care Planning include:

Eva Zivits, MSN, RN, CHPN
Palliative Care Program, Rutland Regional Medical Center

Allan Eisenmann, MD
Medical Director, Foley Cancer Center
Hospice Medical Director, VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region

Cynthia Stadler, MSN, APRN, CHPN
BAYADA Home Health and Hospice

Todd Gregory, MD
Medical Director, Emergency Department, Rutland Regional Medical Center

The panel will review why it is important to have an Advance Directive and how to put one together. An Advance Directive is a legal document that explains what medical decisions you want to be made if you are unable to make them yourself. These include living wills, power of attorney, do not resuscitate orders and organ and tissue donation documents.

Be sure to register now at https://bit.ly/Advance21 and send your questions about Advance Directives to awicher@chcrr.org.

The Rutland Community Collaborative is a network of health care providers in the Rutland region who coordinate community-wide health care efforts to address specific goals.

This 'n That

Hot, humid, sunshine, rain, wind, and cool temps.  That's what we've experienced here at the farm this week!  How 'bout you, what's your weather like?!
It's the labor day weekend, and we will have our farm stand open and ready for you.  Fresh sweet corn arrives on Saturday, as does freshly baked bread and pastries.
Our maple shelves are stocked and pancake mix is available, so your day can start with a delicious breakfast.
Keep a close eye on our facebook and instagram pages!  Our young farmers will be pressing apples this week and their apple cider will be available for purchase in the farm stand!

Meal ideas can be overwhelming at times, so I asked our followers for suggestions the other day.  Click here for some amazing sounding meals made with our ground beef, onions and green peppers.
Don't forget we've got some great roasts for your oven, slow cooker or instapot!  Chuck roast, briskets, round roast, and pork shoulders.  Try one this weekend.
We look forward to seeing you this weekend.  We are open every day 12:00 - 6:00 and are located at 1966 Healdville Road in Mount Holly.

P
lease be cautious when driving in and out of our driveway and be on the lookout for farm equipment, dogs, and  grandchildren!
