Special Announcement Camp Cody Opportunity at Mount Holly Festival of Lights The Mount Holly Community Historical Museum has been offered three gift cards by Camp Cody in Freedom, New Hampshire. Each is in the amount of $2500, applicable to a camper (boy or girl, ages 7-15) to attend either Session 1 (June 21 – July 4) or Session 4 (August 2 – August 15) of the 2026 camp season. These cards will be part of our Festival of Lights live auction this Saturday at Odd Fellows Hall (doors open 5 pm, sale begins 5:30 pm), with a minimum bid of $300 for each. The cost of a camp session is $5500. Families with a gift card will be responsible for $3000 of this cost, with $750 due when their camper registers. It's Friday and it's a cold one! -9 degrees here at the farm this morning. Brrr! We've got some snow on the ground and are expecting sunshine today. Cold weather means soups and stews. Slow cookers are our best friends during the winter season. We've got the meat for your meals, just let us know what you're looking for and we can help. Try our ground beef for your chili, goulash, meatballs, or meatloaf. We've got beef shanks which are great for osso bucco, or soups. Stew beef for those pots of beef stew. And our veggie table has just what you'll need to round out these dishes. Potatoes, carrots, onions and garlic! Rather have pork?! Try some of our smoke ham hocks for your split pea soup. Or one of our favorites is our hot Italian sausage for a sausage and kale soup. Yum!! And remember we have whole chickens as well. Roast one for dinner, and use the leftovers for chicken soup. Can't go wrong. Thank you all for bringing us your egg cartons. Keep them coming! We've got plenty of eggs for all your holiday baking, so stop by and grab a dozen, two, or three! Reminder that we have adjusted our farm stand hours for the winter months. We are now closed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Open Thursdays through Sundays from 12:00 - 5:00. | | | | | SAVE the DATE The Mount Holly Community Association Invites You to a new Community Art Group! This relaxed, no-instruction open art studio is designed for local artists to gather, draw, paint and create together. Mount Holly artists of all skill levels, age 16 and up are welcome. Just bring your supplies, your imagination and enjoy making art alongside others. Please note that we do not have the ventilation needed for oils or turpentine, but welcome all other mediums. We're starting with six sessions this winter: The second and fourth Wednesdays (6-8 pm ) in January-March in the Community Center. (That's January 14th and 28th, Feb 11th and 25th; March 11th and 25th).

As many of you know, the Town has asked the state to review lowering the speed limit on Route 155 between Beaver Meadow Road and Straight Road from 50mph to 35mph.
The state Traffic Engineer has completed their study and at this time has declined to recommend any change to the speed limit. However, this is only a preliminary recommendation and the request still has to proceed before the full VT Traffic Committee. Based on a review of prior VT Committee minutes, it appears that the Committee takes local input based on actual lived experience very seriously. To that end, I would encourage any impacted or concerned resident of Mount Holly to attend the Committee meeting on December 10 at 1:30 pm. While in person attendance at the Committee's office in Berlin may be impractical, there will be a dial-in/remote option. The dial in/remote details will be available approximately 48 hours before the meeting (that is, sometime around December 8).
For those who wish to attend, I'll arrange a zoom call on December 9 to go over what to expect at the meeting and to talk about how best to present any additional comments or evidence to the Committee.
If you would like to be kept in the loop as the meeting approaches, please text or email either me or Leah with your email address and best contact info and we will let you know the details for both the pre-meeting on December 9 and the actual VT Traffic Committee meeting on December 10. You can also contact anyone on the Select Board and they will pass on the information to help coordinate.
