REINBOW RIDING CENTER WELCOMES NEW LEADERSHIP & Thanks Long Serving Outgoing Officers Rutland County, VT: Reinbow Riding Center (RRC), a therapeutic horsemanship center based in Rutland County, begins their 17th season with a new leadership team. Elected as new co-presidents are Samantha Pearce and Rebecca "Becca" Rice. Jennifer Wigmore will also now serve as vice president of the RRC Board. They replace retiring board President Lynn McDermott and Vice-President Dorothy "Dardy" Pour, both of whom provided dedicated and valuable service to the organization. Lynn was a founding director of RRC and has served for many years at its president. She oversaw the organization's growth and move from its original Shrewsbury location to its present location in Belmont. Her tremendous leadership and stewardship of the organization throughout the years has continued to propel RRC forward. Lynn recently stepped down from the board but will continue to serve as Immediate Past President during the transition. Dardy has been an instrumental member of the board and is a retired Special Educator from the Rutland School System. She established and facilitated contacts with local school partners which resulted in an increase of referrals to RRC. Dardy was also heavily engaged in program design, lesson scheduling, and took a leading role in discussions about the organization's future. She also stepped up to serve as acting Program Director during the transition period and will continue to support the organization as a volunteer. Becca is an attorney who is now also the Shrewsbury Town Clerk. She is a longtime horsewoman and has served on the RRC board for seven year. Becca will now share the reins as the Reinbow Riding Center's new co-president. Sam currently works at The Collaborative, an organization focused on youth substance abuse prevention. She is also an avid horsewomen. Sam will also now serve as the organization's new co-president. Jen is currently the Vice Principal of Rutland High School. She has been on the RRC board for a number of years. She has stepped up to serve as Reinbow Riding Center's new vice president. The mission of Reinbow Riding Center is to improve the well-being of individuals with unique physical, emotional and/or cognitive challenges through a therapeutic equine experience.
