Ludlow Rotary Club Learns about the Sport of Dog Tracking Ludlow, Vermont Have you ever wondered what your dog can really do with its nose? The Tracking Club of Vermont (TCV) is introducing more Vermonters to the fascinating sport of AKC tracking - a dog-led activity that challenges dogs and handlers to work together as a team. Marianne Sutherland, President of TCV educated members of the Ludlow Rotary Club at a recent meeting. In tracking, a dog follows the scent of a person along an unknown route, navigating turns and natural obstacles such as woods, fields, water, brush and stone walls. Handlers learn to read their dogs and, perhaps most importantly, to trust them. Dogs of all breeds, sizes and ages can participate. The Tracking Club of Vermont is licensed by the American Kennel Club to conduct sanctioned tracking tests, where successful dog-and-handler teams can earn AKC tracking titles. The club offers tests at various skill levels throughout the year. TCV is a volunteer-run organization supported by its members, instructors, judges, tracklayers and volunteers. Those interested in learning more about the sport, attending an upcoming event, or becoming involved with the club are encouraged to visit the Tracking Club of Vermont website. Learn more at www.trackingclubofvermont.org. The Ludlow Rotary Club meets most Tuesdays for lunch in Ludlow. The LRC is always welcoming new members. If you would like to attend a meeting and learn how you may make a difference while enjoying the fun and fellowship of others, please contact any Rotarian. ### |

Happy Maple Monday, friends!! There's something about the cooler air that has us reaching straight for the maple jug — and that's what's happening this week. This Week's Recipe: Maple Cider-Glazed Meatballs Picture it: meatballs, browned up golden and simmered low and slow in a glossy maple-cider glaze with just a touch of Dijon for bite. They're rich, they're saucy, and they disappear fast — the kind of appetizer that gets circled twice at a harvest potluck. Get the full recipe right here! A Little Maple History Every batch of our maple syrup traces back to a tradition Grandpa Hawkins started generations ago — still made the same wood-fired way today. When you drizzle it into this glaze, you're stirring a little bit of that history right into your kitchen. Shop online and have your maple fix delivered right to your door! Real Vermont maple syrup from our sugar house to your table.

They are going fast fast fast. Don't miss your opportunity to play a friendly game of where will the patty plop. That's right folks we still have about 40 squares left in the annual Cider Days Cow Plop
Some squares are actually a two for one! That's right, if you buy a ticket along the edge there is an additional 2ft buffer zone between your square and the fence and that counts as your space too!
Wednesdays and Saturdays you can find one of the MHCA Board members at the transfer station. Don't forget to bring $10.00 to purchase YOUR winning square. If you miss us there - stop by the General Store and you can purchase a ticket there.
As always, thank you for supporting your community association! |
