As we head into the Thanksgiving holiday week, we will be adjusting our farm stand hours. We will be open through the weekend as normal. Thanksgiving week we will be open Monday & Tuesday from 12-5 and on Wednesday 12-4. Closed on Thursday, and then back to normal weekend hours. We've got the farm stand shelves, fridge and freezers ready for your holiday shopping. Don't be caught without! Not cooking a turkey this year? How about a Plew Farm chicken? We've got them in sizes ranging from 3lbs to 6lbs. Or grab a brisket for your smoker! Or a chuck roast for your slow cooker. Rather have something for your grill? We've got steaks, pork chops and ham steaks. Stop on in and we'll help you decide. Eggs! Don't forget to grab an extra dozen if you're making deviled eggs for the holidays. And thank you for bringing by your used egg cartons. We are putting them to good use! Veggies this weekend will include: salad greens, potatoes, onions, garlic, shallots, carrots, and leeks. And we've got some 2lb bags of mixed root vegetables from our friends at Evening Song Farm. We look forward to seeing you this weekend at the farm stand. Remember we are open 12:00-5:00. ESBR Annual Giving Tuesday/End of Year Campaign 2025 Ludlow, VT: Please consider supporting ESBR this year for our annual Giving Tuesday/End of Year Campaign 2025! Funds go directly to education, and as the 6th year of operation nears its halfway mark, helps ESBR acquire further resources, programs, and passionate professional instructors to assist students on their expeditionary learning journey. Expeditionary Learning studies topics in depth and utilizes the community as an extension of learning. In turn, as the forefront of our Mission, ESBR educates students to be intellectually curious, resourceful, and confident in themselves for a life of personal fulfillment and civic engagement, thus being contributing members of their community. The School continues to grow and started with 22 students this school year, a significant jump in enrollment after only a few years in operation. Students this year have even started their own local news vlog, which can be viewed on the ESBR website. We are so impressed with their creativity and hope you will join us in supporting their projects! *Please note that due to delays ESBR's 501©3 Status is currently being updated; donations can still be made and accepted, but Tax Exempt acknowledgement for any current donations will be delayed. In anticipation of Christmas, FOLA (Friends of Ludlow Auditorium) has arranged a special program to highlight both the festive and spiritual meaning of Christmas on Saturday, December 13 at 7 PM in the Heald Auditorium of Ludlow Town Hall. The program, entitled "A Christmas Wassail", will involve the Gypsy Reel and author Jon Clinch will be featured in this evening of holiday songs and stories. The Gypsy Reel will feature Camille Parker on mandolin, Claudine Langille on banjo, Graham Parker on fiddle. According to Parker, the audience will be treated to "modern Christmas favorites, beloved carols, traditional Celtic instrumentals, and a few unexpected surprises. Special guest, Jon Clinch, will share a favorite passage or two from Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol and his own Marley, just to make sure you leave full of good cheer. FOLA Chairman, Jim Alic, added that "everyone should mark this on their calendar to get into the holiday spirit, especially the younger folks." Benson's Chevrolet is again partnering with the Springfield Humane Society to launch a donation drive aimed at collecting essential supplies and helping the shelter meet the needs of animals in its care this holiday season.
Benson's Chevrolet invites the community to help "Fill the Shelves" of the humane society by donating critical items needed for daily operations and animal comfort. Every donation, large or small, helps the dedicated staff and volunteers provide a safe, clean, and warm environment for homeless pets.
The donation drive is currently underway and will run through Friday, December 19, 2025.
🛒 Needed Items Include:
The Springfield Humane Society is in need of the following supplies:
• Cleaning Essentials:
o Paper Towels
o Cleaning Products (Wipes, Sprays, etc.)
o Laundry Detergent
o Dish Soap
• Pet Food & Treats:
o Dry Dog Food
o Dry Cat Food
o Dog Cookies (Please, NO rawhide bones)
• Comfort Items:
o Gently Used Blankets
o Gently Used Towels
Donations can be dropped off during regular business hours at Benson's Chevrolet, located at 25 Pond Steet in Ludlow.
