Mount Holly Recreation Committee Meeting Tuesday at 5:30 in the Historical Museum.

Everyone is invited to come. We are an informal group seeking ways to increase opportunities for recreation in our town. Our current emphasis is on identifying trails that can be used for walking or cross-country skiing. There are many trails here but some of us don't know exactly where to go. We plan to prepare maps and directions that can be shared with local residents.

We are also open to other ideas. I wonder whether we could do something to facilitate skating on Star Lake?

If you have ideas or questions and cannot attend Tuesday please send me an email.

Happy Friday!

Welcome to the weekend everyone. After a warm day and almost 2" of rain earlier this week, winter is back with colder temps and a few snow flurries!

Our farm animals are doing great. The cattle are nestled in the big red barn, where they are warm and dry. The laying hens are in their winter hoop house and are loving it. We are getting about 130 eggs every day!

Jackson has put up a Christmas tree inside the farm stand, that was cut from our woods. He's added lights and it looks so festive. He'd love for you to stop by and take a look.

It's officially soup season! Start your pot of soup or stew with chicken (sold whole and makes a great dinner with soup as a leftover), ground beef (think chili), beef shanks (beef stew), sausage (sausage, spinach and potato soup) and ham hocks (pea soup). Don't forget to grab some potatoes, onions, carrots or garlic while you're here.

We'll have fresh bread this weekend from our friends at 3 Bears Bakery. Their cinnamon raisin makes the best french toast! Try the farmhouse white for grilled sandwiches. And the multigrain is perfect to go along with your soup.

We have gift certificates too! Purchase them in any denomination, they'll make a great gift for those who are hard to shop for. Stop by the farm stand, we'll hook you up!

Reminder that our farm stand is now closed Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Open Thursdays through Sundays from 12:00-5:00.

We'd love to have you stop by the farm stand. Located at 1966 Healdville Road in Mount Holly. Cash, checks and credit cards accepted.

Please be mindful of other customers, farm equipment and grandkids as you pull into our driveway. We've got plenty of parking in front of the farm stand.
