Freeman Brook Road Emergency Repair Update. We are just about stabilized now. Before and after photos of the upper repair. Markowski Excavating brought in some large 4 to 6 foot rock to help stabilize the river bank.
Other repair work going on includes Friday, 7/21, new temporary 5" dia culvert being install on Beaver Meadow Rd at location that washed out in storm. And we anticipate starting Healdville Rd slope repair next week.
Remember to report residential and business flood damage to VT 211 by either calling 211 or going to vermont211.org. Also send us a email jeff@chasevermont.com or call town office 259-2391 and leave a message, as we will be talking to FEMA about public and individual assistance.
Finally Vermont Department of Health is offering free emergency water test kits for those impacted by flooding, call VDH at 802-338-4724 and ask for emergency drinking water test kit. The water sample will need to be dropped off in Rutland or Springfield. If you need help with that let us know and we can help coordinate a drop off, call town office 259-2391 and leave a message or email jeff@chasevermont.com

Ludlow Rotary Annual Duck Race cancelled this year due to Flood in Ludlow
Although it is getting close to that time of year– when we all root for our favorite duck, the recent flooding in Ludlow has upended the plans.
The 24th annual duck race sponsored by the Ludlow Rotary Club (LRC) will not be racing down the Black River this year because the flood of July 10 has made it unsafe and unhealthy to be in the river.
The LRC formally announced that the traditional Ralph D Hogancamp Memorial Duck Race will be cancelled this year. It will return in August of 2024. Thanks to all of those who have supported us in years past. We look forward to next year for the fun event's return.

CAVENDISH TOWN WIDE TAG SALE IS A GO By popular demand, Cavendish will be holding it's 13th Annual Town Wide Tag Sale on July 29 (Saturday) from 9-2. We can all use a break, find items we might have lost through the flood, enjoy some good food and have a sense of normalcy it what is a very abnormal time. Vendors are urged to set up on one of the town greens or along Main St. in order to keep people off the back roads.
The Cavendish Connects Booth, located at the Proctorsville Green Gazebo, will have information for those who have been impacted by the flood, including resource information from Efficiency Vermont.
