I don't generally "report" stuff but this time I feel it necessary. Yesterday while I was out for my now daily recovery walk with my constant companions…crutches I had unprecedented encounters with 2 vehicles traveling at high rates of speed on Healdville Rd. The first car, all I remember is it was shiny black and fairly new was riding on the double line. Since I'm not moving very fast right now, I froze by the edge of the road…can't walk in gravel yet…all I could see was the side of the car with its tires on the yellow lines about 6' away from me. A little unnerving. It did have VT plates. Then a few minutes after that a car that had slowed down to drive past me (I always stop walking if there's a cars) on the other side of the road, was passed by a maroon older suv, maybe an explorer, with a yellow bumper sticker just beneath the hatch window with Ma. plates. Closer to me because it passed the other car that had slowed down. I get people can be late to get somewhere but I always wear bright colored clothes and they were obviously not on fire. About 5-10 min later after I had crossed over by the bridge and was heading home, a loud rusty brown colored work truck with Ma. plates blew past followed closely by the same Maroon SUV with Ma. plates. I'm thinking possibly they may be working up the hill aways where there's a house being built. I'm thankful the grand kids weren't with me because they would've been so scared. Just wanted to give a heads up! Thanks! Donna Berkey.
