We'll be happy to see you!  We accept cash, checks, and credit cards.  Our farm stand is located at 1966 Healdville Road in Mount Holly.  Closed on Mondays!   LET'S TALK TURKEY We are looking at a challenging year for raising turkeys.  Prices are up on everything involved with getting and raising them (gas, feed, trucking, packaging, etc).  We will be taking orders now for Thanksgiving turkeys, as we will not be raising any extra birds.  Turkeys generally average about 18lbs each, and we expect the price to be between $6.50 & $7.00 per pound.  We are not requiring a deposit for your order at this time.  Do let us know if you'd like to order a turkey and be placed on our 2022 turkey reservation list.  Drop us an email to plewfarm@gmail.com (do not reply to this email).   Plew Farm 1966 Healdville Road     Mount Holly, Vermont  05758 www.plewfarm.com Farm stand open Tuesdays through Sundays (CLOSED ON MONDAYS) 12:00pm - 5:00pm   802.259.2250 plewfarm@gmail.com   Ludlow Rotary Features Cavendish Craftsman's Stained Glass Windows   Peter LaBelle of Cavendish recently spoke to the Ludlow Rotary Club (LRC) at its weekly luncheon meeting on stained glass art.   LaBelle described the process of creating a design for a stained-glass project and the actual process of cutting the glass and piecing it together.  He also discussed the ecclesiastical form of stain glass art as exemplified in church windows.   The process begins with a drawn concept of the object to be made followed by the process of acquiring the specially treated and colored glass.  The next step involves the very tedious work of cutting the various glass pieces in the design.   This particular phase, according to LaBelle, requires "the utmost patience and a good supply of Band-Aids".  The cut pieces then need to have their edges smoothed, wrapped in thin lead which is soldered, and gradually assembled into the full design of the project.   LaBelle has created a large number of stained-glass pieces.  Examples included the restoration of the Episcopal Church windows damaged by Irene in Proctorsville, the logo for Murdock's Restaurant, and numerous floral designs.   He gave each of the Rotarians at the meeting a sample piece of a rose blossom stained glass so they could see the actual sequence from concept to finish product.   Pictured above are Art Randolph, LRC President, and Peter LaBelle, guest speaker who described his work with stained glass projects.  Above is a sample of the stained-glass work created by Peter LaBelle which he used to show how an initial project concept was developed into a finished piece of stained glass.  A sample piece of this stained-glass art was given to the Rotarians attending the luncheon meeting.   Susanna Gellert, the artistic director of Weston Playhouse, will be giving a talk on the upcoming play "Steel Magnolias" at noon on Monday the 16th of May at our home.
