As a continuing effort to help the people of the Ukraine, Cavendish Town Elementary School (CTES) students are now preparing sunflower seed packets for area residents and visitors.

The sunflower is the national flower of the Ukraine and represents a continuing effort to raise funds to help the people of that nation recover from the devastation wrought by the Russian invasion.
Benson's Chevrolet, Ludlow Insurance, and Green Mountain Fire Place Specialty will have sunflower seed packets available to the general public. There is no set price for the seeds - only a donation as seen appropriate by the purchaser. Other area businesses are expected to offer the seed packets.
The CTES students are continuing to produce these unique seed packets in the hope they will persuade people to grow the beautiful flowers they produce in support of the people of the Ukraine.

We are excited for the weekend, how 'bout you?! We will be opening up our sugar house this weekend and you are invited. Stop on by and take a tour and see how we make our delicious award winning wood fired maple syrup. We'll have samples of our maple syrup as well.
And while you're at the sugar house, grab a tag from the bulletin board, then bring said tag to our farm stand where you can redeem it at check out to see what you've won! Prizes include... discount on purchase, free ground beef, free maple syrup, free tshirts and more!
Our sugar house is located on Stewart Road South in Mount Holly. If you're traveling up Healdville Road, Stewart Road South will be the first right hand turn road AFTER Crowley Cheese and before our farm stand. If you're traveling down Healdville Road, Stewart Road South will be the first left hand turn AFTER Plew Farm! We'll have a sign at the end of the road for guidance. Open house hours will be 11:00 - 4:00 on Saturday and Sunday. Now to farm stand news! We've been in the sugar house ALL week and have bottled up a gazillion bottles (well maybe not that many) of our delicious wood fired maple syrup. Our shelves are FULL with all grades and all sizes! We've been pumping out batches of maple cream, maple almonds and maple candy. So get on over here and check 'em out.
We've added a new line of cheese to our dairy fridge. Welcome North Meadow Farm! Their cheese curds and spreads are out of this world.
Our meat freezers are stocked with a variety of pork, beef and chicken. Ground beef, ground pork sausage, chops, steaks, roasts, briskets, and more. BBQ sauce and seasonings also on our shelves. Our farm stand is located at 1966 Healdville Road in Mount Holly. We are open Tuesdays through Sundays from 12:00 - 5:00. Closed on Mondays!

All week we've shared posts and pictures of our family. Family is the most important thing to us, as I'm sure it is to you! While the day to day farm operation consists of the two of us (Kevin & Patti), the majority of our family is here to help during maple season. It all started with the love of maple from my Grandfather. And we've managed to pass along the love to our children and grandkids.
Today's farm picture of the grandkids show each of them when they were younger, in and around the sugar house! We'd love to have you stop on by our open house this weekend and say hello to our farmily .. your maple crew!

Annual Ludlow Rotary's Penny Sale Resumes April 30 With Prizes Galore
After a two-year hiatus due to Covid, the Ludlow Rotary Club has announced the resumption of its annual "Penny Sale" on Saturday, April 30 in the Ludlow Elementary School's Gymnasium at 6 pm.
This will be the 64th edition of this traditional event that features hundreds of prizes donated by area businesses and individuals plus a raffle. The Penny Sale is free and open to everyone. In addition to the prizes and raffle, refreshments will be available.
The raffle, normally conducted at the close of the Penny Sale, will offer the following prizes: 1st Prize is $500 2nd Prize is $250 3rd Prize is $150 4th Prize is $100 and 5th Prize is $50 Raffle tickets are $2 for one or 3 tickets for $5.
Raffle tickets may be purchased from LRC members, accessing the LRC's website at https://portal.clubrunner.ca/2939, or by sending a check to LARCF, PO Box 216, Ludlow, VT 05149. You do not have to be there to win one of these raffle prizes but, if you are in attendance, your award is increased by $25.
Currently, the LRC members are soliciting area businesses and individuals for donations that may be in the form of merchandise, gift certificates, or cash.
The proceeds from the Penny Sale help LRC underwrite its annual scholarship program for area graduating high school seniors planning advanced educational programs. Through this program, LRC has awarded over $150,000 in scholarship awards during the past 20 years. The annual scholarship awards last year totalled $9,000. Pictured above is a scene from the last Penny Sale sponsored by the Ludlow Rotary Club. As indicated from the photo, it was a packed house eagerly waiting to see if they won some of the prizes in the foreground.
