He'd love a card from you   !   Tom French,  The Pines, 99 Allen Street, 4th floor,  Rutland VT  05701 Tom's health has been OK, some setbacks, but thankfully not Covid.   The Pines locks down from time to time and he misses going out.  When the lockdown ends he is out and about with Justin or Dean driving the van.  He loves to see people and would stop by for a brief visit if you'd care to go out and sit in the van for a minute or just go to the window to say "hi" .  Let me know if you'd like to see him - 802 325-3008  duffduff@yahoo.com ( Deb).   About 5 minutes and he's ready to roll , LOL.  It's just seeing people that means the world to him   !    Everyone has had vaccine and most (including Tom ) have recently had the booster.  Our very best to all for a happy and healthy holiday season ! Very Truly Yours, Diana Garrow chitchat@vermontel.net 802-259-2314   Music Returns to the Ludlow Auditorium   It may have been the onset of a winter storm but the Ludlow Town Hall Auditorium was ringing with the sound of "It might as well be Spring" and many other popular melodies from the Great American Song Book last Saturday.  All of this was made possible by the melodious talents of Susan Haefner and Lisa Brigantino in the 'Blue Sky Cabaret' concert sponsored by FOLA (Friends of Ludlow Auditorium).  Pictured above are Lisa Brigantino, at the digital keyboard, and Susan Haefner as they perform "I'm a Cockeyed Optimist".  In addition to featuring numbers from the Great American Song Book, the duo also performed several numbers composed by Lisa as well as one composed by Susan.  It was certainly a great way to ignore the inclement weather outside the auditorium.

Plew Farm is a diversified farm located in the beautiful Vermont town of Mount Holly.  We began our farming adventure in 2011.  We raise a variety of animals here at our farm including chicken (both for meat and eggs), pigs, cattle and turkeys.  We retail our meat and eggs in our on-site farm store. We also make hay throughout the summer, which is used for our own cattle's needs and also for resale here at our farm. Our 150 acre farm also includes a 12 acre sugar bush, which we use in the spring to produce some of the best tasting wood fired Vermont maple syrup around!  Our syrup is sold at our farm stand and also available on our website! Our farm stand continues to provide our community with some amazing locally grown and produced goodies.  In addition to our own meat, maple and eggs, you'll find other products like pizza, cheese, honey, mustards, veggies, coffee beans, canvas prints and so much more. We thank you for following along our farm journey and invite you to stop on by our farm stand if you're out and about!  We are open Tuesdays through Sundays from 12:00-5:00pm and would love to see you! If you have one for sale please call 802 259 2201 For Immediate Release   Contact:  ralphcpace@gmail.com   Note:  Photo attached of check presentation to Jacqueline Hanlon of Mountainside; photo credit George Thomson     Ludlow Rotary Donates to Mountainside And Hears State of the Town Address   The recent luncheon meeting of the Ludlow Rotary Club (LRC) featured two special events: 1 – Ludlow's Municipal Manager's 'State of the Town' and 2 – the LRC donation to Mountainside, part of the Windsor County Youth Services.   In keeping with its tradition of making awards to local community organizations that provide necessary and important services, the LRC presented a $2,000 check to Mountainside, located on Mill Street in Ludlow.  Accepting the award was Jacqueline Hanlon, Director of the youth shelter.  The award recognized the important contribution Mountainside makes in supporting and assisting young people from troubled home situations.   Half of this amount was contributed by LRC members, the other half by the district headquarters.   Scott Murphy, Ludlow's Municipal Manager, presented a detailed outline of recent town activities and projects plus some plans for the future.   Among the subjects Murphy covered were:   ·       The recent High Street water line replacement and run-off controls ·       The Vail Bridge over Jewell Brook will be replaced starting next summer ·       A burst waterline in front of The Timber Inn saw a loss of 360,000 gallons of water where to pipes involved were relatively new ·       No progress as of yet on the rental registration proposals ·       A local option tax planned may be discussed in the near future ·       The proposed local charter to permit the select board to determine whether elections are done by Australian ballot or town meeting is in progress   -30-   Caption to attached photo   Pictured above is, left to right, Rotarians Brigid Sullivan and Paul Rix; Jacqueline Hanlon, Mountainside Director; and Rotarian Kim Lampert as the LRC presents a $2,000 check to Mountainside, a Ludlow emergency shelter for youth.    -30-
