I have four free Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2 SUV 225/60R17 99R (Snow Tires-Run Flats). I was planning to put them back on my Forester until I found I might be doing a lot more driving this winter than last to Maine and Canada.

I also have crab apple wood free.

Farm Life

Hard to believe the end of October is right around the corner!  And other than the drenching rain, the weather is still not too shabby!  A bit cool in the mornings and evenings, with a wee bit of sunshine in between.

Let's talk about:

CHICKEN.  We made sure to fill our freezers back in the summer to get us through the winter months!  So yay!  Stop on by for a delicious roasting chicken.

BREAD.  The bread bakers are taking the weekend off - say what?!  Not to worry though, we've got a supply of their bread in our freezers.  Simply thaw and enjoy.

TURKEYS. We have sold out of our Thanksgiving turkeys.

MONDAYS.  Just a reminder we are closed on Mondays.  Open Tuesday through Sunday from 12:00-6:00.

CATTLE.  Our cattle are still out grazing our pastures.  You may see them when driving by, as we move them daily into a new pasture.

PASTA.  We have our fridge stocked with some amazing fresh pasta, ravioli and pasta sheets!  Dinner just got easier!  Sauce and pesto available too!

MAPLE.  Our bourbon barrel aged maple syrup has been the hot seller this week!  I'm thinking gift giving...this syrup is so delicious over a bowl of good vanilla ice cream!  Available in our farm stand, or on our website!

SOCIAL MEDIA.  If you aren't following us on Instagram and/or Facebook ... well, what can I say?!  Follow along for updates, pictures and all things Plew Farm.

FARM STAND.  We are open this weekend (12:00-6:00) and look forward to seeing you!  Step inside and take a look at what we have to offer.  Located at 1966 Healdville Road in Mount Holly.

Please be cautious and drive accordingly when driving in and out of our driveway.  Be on the lookout for farm equipment, dogs, other customers, and  grandchildren!

RECIPE OF THE WEEK...

I love experimenting with new recipes, and this one did not disappoint.  Start by simmering a smoked ham hock, onions, seasonsings and bay leaf.  Simmer for a couple of hours or so.  Recipe continues in next block -->>

ROAST HAM HOCK & POTATOES

When done simmering, place in pan surrounded by cut up potatoes.  Sprinkle all with salt, pepper, thyme, paprika and garlic.  Mix a sauce of 1/4 cup each maple syrup, mustard, and mayo.  Pour on top of all!  Bake at 400 for 30-40 minutes.  SO GOOD!
