Mount Holly Celebrates 250 Years of Independence! July 4, 2026 Come celebrate with a visit to the Mount Holly Community Historical Museum. We will be open from 10:00AM-1:00PM. Come and see how the Mount Holly Community has supported and lived out the spirit of freedom given to us through the Constitution. Apply Now For Community Health's New MA Training Program Starting This Fall Rutland, VT – Beginning this September, Community Health will welcome a new group of trainees into its Community Health Career Program, offering a direct pathway to a full-time career in healthcare. Applications are now being accepted for the 25-week Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) training program. The program is open to individuals with a high school diploma or GED and a passion for helping others. No prior healthcare experience is required. "We are committed to investing in workforce development in our community, and growing local talent within Community Health," said Tracy Upton, RN, Director of Clinical Operations. Selected applicants will be hired as full-time Community Health employees, receiving benefits and competitive wages while completing the program. Upon successful completion of the training and passing the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) CCMA certification exam, participants will transition into Medical Assistant roles across Community Health's network of clinics. "Our goal is to remove the barriers for those interested in healthcare careers," said Upton. "We've created a career path that offers an alternative to the traditional college route, while still leading to a meaningful, long-term profession." The 25-week program combines classroom instruction, simulation-based learning, and hands-on clinical experience. Trainees will develop skills in taking vital signs, assisting providers during procedures, supporting patients throughout their visits, administering injections, performing lab tests and coordinating care and scheduling. In partnership with Vermont State University, the program integrates classroom and online learning with clinical training across Community Health's medical, Express Care, pediatric, geriatric and behavioral health practices. "We're looking for individuals with a strong work ethic, flexibility and a commitment to professionalism," Upton said. Training takes place weekdays 8:00 am to 4:30 pm at Community Health's Allen Street training center in Rutland. Trainees must have reliable transportation to travel to various clinical sites needed. Graduating high school seniors, individuals exploring alternatives to a traditional college pathway, and those seeking a career change into healthcare are encouraged to apply. |

Pace Publish Two New Books Ralph Pace, formerly of Ludlow and currently living in Rutland, has published two new books. The new books are: "A Random Journey, Short Stories" and "Dad's Diaries, 1916 to 1920". "A Random Journey" contains 13 short stories ranging from a fourteen-year old's dancing experience while in Junior High School to a tale of a Broadway musical production produced by campers from the New York ghetto. ""Dad's Diaries, 1916 to 1920" contains the daily entries of the author's father. They contain information dealing with the social events and life-style of the period as well as his activities as a navy cook on a subchaser during World War I. Both books are printed in a hardcover and large print editions as well as eBook/Kindle format, obtainable through Amazon. These books add to his publication of three fictional books entitled: "Chronicles of a Grumpy Old Man," "Mission in the Kingdom," and "Anatomy of a Conspiracy.", all available through Amazon. |
