Quaker Meeting in Shrewsbury

Last week the Rutland Herald had an article "Young adults turn to Quakers' silent worship" highlighting the many people searching for ways to cope in these difficult times. The Wilderness Friends Quaker meeting gathers at 10 am every Sunday in the Shrewsbury Library in Cuttinngsville. We are a small, friendly community that gathers in silent worship guided by Quaker principles of peace, equality, simplicity, integrity, stewardship and community. We believe that everyone carries the inner light of God or Spirit within and can feel it in a silent meeting.

All are welcome—whether you are new to Quaker worship or simply curious to learn more.

Quaker Meetings are based on silence and stillness. You don't have to be a Quaker to come to a Quaker Meeting. We welcome people of all faiths and none. It's a time when we sit together in silence and open ourselves to a deeper spiritual connection with what matters to us. It usually lasts for an hour, and is followed by social time and snacks.

People come to Quaker Meetings for many reasons: to rest, reflect, pray, meditate, find peace, find connection, be with God, ask questions, or seek answers. Please join us!

You can find more at wildernessfriends.org or ask questions at wildernessfriends@gmail.com.

Welcome to the weekend everyone! Another chilly Friday here at the farm which will most likely be the case for the remainder of the year as winter weather is slowly creeping in.

The cattle are enjoying their winter digs inside the big red barn. Warm, dry and content! The laying hens venture outside on 'the good days'! They aren't a fan of snow on the ground, and they've got plenty of space inside their winter house.

Our farm stand will be open for you to shop with us this weekend. Our shelves, fridge, and freezers are stocked with all the local goodness you could imagine.

Did you know that all of the meat that we sell inside the farm stand (beef, pork, and chicken) was raised here at our farm?! You can't get any more local than that folks.

And we have a close connection to each of the 26+ farmers and producers that supply us and you with their wares. Organic vegetables, dairy, honey, jams, ice cream, soaps, vinegar, coffee, pizza, cheese, baked goods, gifts, and so much more.

Don't forget we have eggs, plenty of eggs! And we will gladly take your clean empty egg cartons. (12pack, cardboard). Drop them by during farm stand hours. And thank you!

We'll be open this weekend for your shopping convenience and we'd love for you to stop by. Located at 1966 Healdville Road in Mount Holly.

We are a working farm, and ask you to please be mindful of farm equipment, customer traffic, and grandkids as you visit our farm stand.
