| | | | | Star Lake Recreation discussion Tuesday at 5:30 in Library Community Room
Everybody is invited to join a meeting of the Conservation Commission to discuss possibilities for enhancing recreation at Star Lake Tuesday at 5:30 in the community room of the library or by Zoom. In discussions with State officials regarding permits for various activities we learned that the first step toward getting permits is to develop a comprehensive plan listing all the things we want to do. This meeting will be the first step in developing such a plan. Among the ideas that have been mentioned are: -- enlarging the weed-free swimming area with an additional bottom barrier and/or mechanical harvesting of weeds -- using mechanical harvesting to clear waterway paths across the lake to enable boaters to explore more of the lake -- developing walking trails for greater access to the lake -- building a boardwalk along portions of the shore to facilitate observation of wildlife -- installing playground equipment in the Town Park -- installing a Bocci court in the park -- organizing activities for children and/or adults at the lake At this meeting we plan to brainstorm, seeking other ideas. At future meetings, after a plan is developed and approved by the Select Board, we will prioritize these activities, seek grants and other funding, apply for any necessary permits and find volunteers to help implement the plan.

Thank you all for an amazing 2024 here at the farm. We are looking forward to sharing our farm life with you in 2025!
We were hoping to reach 4,000 farm stand checkout customers, but fell just a little bit short. We ended the year with 3,958!! And our laying hens outdid themselves this year as well. We collected 35,755 eggs last year. That's over 2,979 dozen! And a big thanks to the 1,600 Facebook followers as well as our 1,353 followers on Instagram. We feel the love and are grateful every day.
We received about 10" of fresh snow the other night, making for a winter wonderland! It's going to be on the colder side, meaning the snow will be sticking around for a bit.
Inside our warm farm stand, we've got just what you need after a day of being outside on the slopes or sledding in your back yard. How about a mug or two of mulled cider, starting with apple cider from Brown's Orchard. We've got some in the farm stand!
Need a quick snack to warm up with? Try one of Goodman's take-and-bake pizzas. We've got them too!
Or grab some ground beef and/or sausage and start your pot of chili in the morning. It'll be ready when you walk through the door at the end of your outdoor adventure!
Cozy up with a cup of hot tea, but don't forget the honey! Grab a jar or two of it while you're in the farm stand. Branch Brook Farm's honey is favorite with our customers.
Our selection of beef includes steaks, roasts, and ground, while our pork freezer is stocked with ham steaks, sausage, chops, ribs and roasts. Whole chickens also available.
Eggs .. we've got 'em! Stop by and grab a dozen for your breakfast meals. They make delicious quiches too!
We'd love to have you stop by the farm stand. Located at 1966 Healdville Road in Mount Holly. Cash, checks and credit cards accepted.
Please be mindful of other customers, snow banks, farm equipment and grandkids as you pull into our driveway. We've got plenty of parking in front of the farm stand. | | |

Happy (almost) New Year! We have had the most wonderful time in 2024 meeting new people & continuing to see more familiar faces stop into the shop. This holiday season was one for the books and we couldn't have done it without your support. From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!
We will be taking New Years Day to spend time with family, so we are closed 12/30-1/1. We'll be back to the shop Thursday 1/2/25. Our hours for the start of the new year will be:
