Archived Newsflash emails can be read at: https://mthollynewsflash.blogspot.com 2.8.23 Newsflash/ Front Porch Forum communique to all the towns As we've previously communicated, several residents of Mount Holly, Shrewsbury, and Wallingford have been trying to figure out and develop the resources all our residents will need so they might be able to age comfortably in their own homes. Many communities around the country have done this, using a few different models. Before we put any such resources into place, we must first decide what model to build for ourselves. At this point, and likely for a few months at least, we are in the investigatory phase. We'll be sending out a survey, or maybe two, that will seek input on your level of interest, what services you might want, information about your household and whether you would (at this point) be a recipient or a provider of assistance. We will be building a budget, deciding on a name, possibly making some legal filings, and more. By the way, if there is interest from Clarendon residents, we would love to talk with you. So far only a couple of people have asked about what we're doing in response to our Front Porch Forum postings. Individuals could join us once we are set up but if there's enough interest from people who want to be involved they would be welcome to join in our organizational development phase. Many people have already come forward to say you want to help. We will keep a roster of names. It's possible that we may need a few folks to help compiling the results of the survey(s) or be a short-term participant on a subcommittee that is working on a specific project. We really cannot say exactly what we'll need yet. But if you think that you would like to be involved, please let one of us know.
