Sure has been a hot week, am I right?!  We welcomed the little bit of rain this week and are hoping for a bit more. Farm chores continue to keep us busy ..  moving and feeding animals, chicken processing, hay season, repairs and maintenance, sales and marketing, working the farm stand.... We have FRESH chicken in the farm stand this weekend.  Stop on by and grab one - you'll be glad you did.  Get 'em fresh while we got 'em. Our ground beef patties were the big seller this week!  These pre-made patties are perfect for camping too.  Stop on by on your way out of town (or on your way in to town!) and grab some. Anyone ready to use their smoker this weekend?  How about trying one of our delicious briskets!?!  We've even got some bbq sauce on the shelves if you need it. Produce continues to grace our back tables.  Greens, onions, garlic, squash, cukes, green and yellow beans and more.  We may have corn on Saturday ..  We'll post on FaceBook when we do get it, so be sure to follow along. And remember we have an online store for those of you who are in need of some maple!   With the summer traffic and haying season, please be mindful of hay equipment, grandkids, vehicles and customers when driving in and out of our driveway.  Our farm stand is located at 1966 Healdville Road in Mount Holly.  Open Tuesdays through Sundays from 12:00pm-5:00pm.  Closed on Mondays!   WE'VE GOT FRESH CHICKEN! Stop on by the farm stand this weekend for some fresh chicken!  Our pasture raised chickens are so good, you'll want to grab two! Come hear such stories as "Tortoise & the Egrets" (Tibet), "Origin of the Ocean" (Guajiro-Columbia), "Azeban & the Crayfish" (Abenaki), "Koluscap and the Water Monster" (Anishinabe), and how Gluscabi and his Grandmother make a great journey to an island in the Sea! If it rains come to the library and show your support!  Ludlow Rotarians Learn About Drones   Drones -- those little remote-controlled helicopters with an all-seeing camera -- are ideal for solving the mystery of a lost hiker. But finding out what's behind a neighbor's fence or, God forbid,  your bedroom window, are off limits, according to Gene Jakominich of Ludlow, featured speaker at the Ludlow Rotary Club's July 19th meeting. He described the capabilities of drones, detailing how the photographs taken by these flying devices were able to define details that ordinary cameras couldn't.   A retired US Navy Operations Specialist and veteran of the First Gulf War, Jakominich says drones are useful for disaster relief. But, they must never take off from private property without permission from the property owner.  In discussing the flight management of drones, Jakominich indicated that most drone users followed basic rules as to elevation and area covered during drone operations. .    Two factors he stressed concerned drone flight over private property.  He cited the current legal status of a drone as being similar to that of a commercial aircraft, saying, "Don't shoot it down. That's a federal crime. Call the police instead." since this would be considered the same as attacking conventional aircraft based on the current laws.   He also noted that most users will not take photos of private property without first getting the consent of the owner.   Jim Rumrill, LRC President, introduced three recently graduated students from area high schools.  All three were recent recipients of scholarship awards from the LRC.  Each of the students described their continuing plan of studies in college. pictured above are three students who recently graduated from high school who were awarded scholarships by the Ludlow Rotary Club (LRC).  They recently attended a club meeting and discussed their future education plans.  They are pictured with Jim Rumrill, the President of the LRC.  From left to right, they are Jim Rumrill, LRC President, Reid Hychiewicz, Mackenzie Martin, and Grace Tyrrell.  BELMONT VILLAGE TOUR    The Mount Holly Community Historical Museum is offering a walking tour of Belmont Village at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 23rd. Meet at the Perkins House Museum on the Village Green for a tour that lasts a little more than an hour. Hear about the families and the history of the houses. In the case of rain, a tour of the museum collection will be offered.
