BALLOTING RESULTS FOR 2023 MOUNT HOLLY CALENDAR Every year an exciting highlight of October's Cider Days celebration is the public balloting for the photographs that will make up the next Mount Holly calendar. This past Cider Days was no different. It was also special because Cider Days 2020 had to be scrapped because of Covid-19. While the weather during Cider Days 2021 wasn't perfect it was pleasant and brought out many visitors. When the ballots were counted more than 200 people had made their choices known about which photos they wanted to see in Mount Holly's 2023 calendar. Once again, the competition to get into the calendar was fierce. There were just so many exceptional entries to choose from. Subjects the public had to choose from included churches, horses, dogs, Uncle Sam (an impersonator, not the real one), a harvest moon (the real one), and more. In this issue of the Newsflash, you can see all the chosen photos. You can also view these photos on the website of the Mount Holly Community Association mhcavt.org. So, congratulations to the photographers chosen for the 2023 calendar and thank you to everyone who participated, whether by submitting photos, by casting ballots, by judging, or by volunteering their time to help with the competition and Cider Days overall. And remember, the photos that will be in the 2024 Mount Holly calendar are out there for the taking. But don't wait until August to take them. The calendar represents all five of Mount Holly's seasons (although no one has yet to submit a mud season photo). And always have your cellphone with you so you don't have to borrow your kid's. The Chit Chat, the Newsflash, the MHCA website and the town bulletin boards will be the best sources for information about how to submit photos. Or you can request an entry form at mthollyphotos@gmail.com. The competition is open to all residents and non-residents. The only rule governing subject matter is that all photos must be of Mount Holly. The competition has always been intense, and this past year was no exception, and let's make the next competition even more so. The 2023 calendar will go on sale this coming July. As always, sales of the calendar support the activities of the Mount Holly Community Association. Buy them early and often as the saying goes. They do sell out. Rutland -- Community Health is celebrating the opening of Community Kids Dental, a dental practice specifically geared to children. Thousands of kids in the Rutland region were left without a dentist last year when a pediatric dentist retired. Community Health recognized the gap in care and immediately began expanding the health center's dental practice to offer pediatric dentistry.
Pediatric dentist Dr. Safaa Ahmed joins Community Kids Dental from Boston University's Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine where she specialized in preventative and therapeutic oral health care for children of all ages. "Every child has the right to better oral health. Every child," said Dr. Ahmed. "At Community Kids Dental we have the opportunity to better their oral health and to make them more educated."

Pediatric dentistry focuses on dental development, care of teeth, gums and mouth and prevention of decay, disease and injuries.
