Happy Friday folks, and it looks like it is going to be a beautiful day here in Mount Holly! We are excited to see the sun and will be busy in the hay field all day!
We've been keeping busy with day-to-day farm life (some people call it chores). Our last batch of meat chickens moved out onto pasture, which means we have only 6 weeks left for FRESH chicken! The turkeys will be moving out onto pasture in the next week or so.
Cattle continue to graze the pastures around the farm, and are enjoying the sunshine instead of the rainy wet weather we've been having.
Our farm stand has been hopping all week! We love meeting new folks every day, and are so thankful for our faithful repeat customers. We'll have fresh bread as well as pastries available on Saturday (12-6).
Maple syrup, farm fresh eggs, chicken, pork, and beef await your arrival! Let us help you with your meals. Our ground beef pre-made patties are the easiest thing for dinner, and we've got 'em!
Our farm stand is located at 1966 Healdville Road in Mount Holly and we are open every day 12:-00-6:00. Please be aware of farm equipment, dogs, and grandchildren when driving in and out of our driveway.

Don't forget we ship our award winning, wood fired pure Vermont maple syrup, maple almonds and maple cream! No need to go without . Visit our online store found on our website.

Celebrate National Health Center Week Aug. 8-14

Rutland - Do you remember where you were one year ago challenged by a pandemic and wondering how to navigate your family's health care? Community Health, Vermont's largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) never closed, remaining safe and accessible throughout as a center for health care and wellness.

This August, Community Health joins the Health Center Advocacy Network in celebrating National Health Center Week, the week of August 8, to shine a light on those who served our community with love and support and continue to offer a vision for all those who continue to find innovative ways to provide preventative and primary care to the community.

August 11 - Patient Appreciation Day is when we thank our faithful patients of all ages for their trust in us and their commitment to improve health and wellness for themselves and their families.
August 12 - Stakeholder Appreciation Day celebrates those who have supported the Community Health Centers concept and provided funding for programs to bring these critical resources to serve those most in need. Thanks to our local, state and federal policymakers for their support.
August 13 - Health Center Staff Appreciation Day is a day we show how grateful we are for our staff members who are dedicated to the community health center movement and deserve to be recognized for their incredible contributions to keeping our community healthy!
August 14 - Children's Health Day we celebrate all of the practices that keep our kids healthy and thriving! Brushing teeth, washing hands, eating well, exercising every day and routines such as doctor and dentist check-ups that ensure that families have the support, information and care they need to help kids stay well!

August Abundance!

After all these rains it's a great feeling to see your garden in full maturity and producing an abundance of veggies, herbs, flowers, and soon to be harvested potatoes, onions, carrots, beets, turnips, and more. It's the reward that a hard-working gardener deserves and should enjoy this time of year. Harvesting is key to good production, the more you pick the more you get! Leaving fruits on plants to get over-ripe or go to seed tells the plants its job is done and to stop production. Of course, abundance can become a (welcome?) burden too, unless we have some good ways to deal with it all. Let's look at some seasonal tasks, the possibilities for too many zucchinis, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc., and get prepared for seasonal pests that are out there now
