  1. TRANSFER STATION UPDATES

    All residents are encouraged to familiarize themselves with collection and disposal policies at the Mount Holly Transfer Station. Please review the following sorting and collection guidelines before bringing items to the Transfer Station.

    In particular, note that:

    The Transfer Station cannot accept batteries nor lightbulbs; attendants will refuse such items if they are dropped off. You may bring batteries and lightbulbs to the Gleason Road Transfer Station.
    The Swap Shed has specific, posted guidelines. Please do not donate anything that is not accepted at the Swap Shed, including clothing, shoes and electronics.
    The burn pile is for untreated, unpainted wood only. Fiberboard, plywood, pressure-treated wood and painted wood cannot be burned and must be placed in the C&D bin; stickers may apply to some items.
    Food scraps may not be disposed of with household trash; this is a state law. All food scraps must be composted in the marked bins. Sawdust is available to add to bins after disposal
    Metal scraps are recycled; no hazardous materials nor electronic materials may be left at the metal recycling pile.
    Hazardous Waste is only collected on specific collection days. Watch the Chit Chat and Newsflash for announcements.

Pierce's Store is hosting its Second Annual Chili Cookoff

Saturday October 7 from 5:30 until 7:30

At Pierce's Store, 2658 Northam Road in Shrewsbury

Chefs and Tasters Welcome!!!

Chefs – Your fantastic Chili could be the winner!

All varieties of Chili are welcome!

Entry Fee – $10.00 per Chili

(and of course you get to sample all of the other chilis!)

Taste the wonderful variety of chilis and vote for your favorite!

COLFAX LODGE ANNUAL PORK DINNER
Colfax Lodge is holding their annual pork toast dinner at the Odd Fellows Hall in Belmont on Saturday,
October 7 th . The meal starts at 5 p.m. and offers an eat-in or take-out option, with take-outs available at
